Featuring Canadian pedestrians stopped on the street, including some. Tim Hortons is not a metaphor — it is the most recognizable Canadian corporate employer, and its reliance on the Temporary Foreign Worker Program is well-documented and widely resented.

Who: Canadian pedestrians stopped on the street, including some who have lost jobs or been passed over in hiring

What: Interviewer uses Tim Hortons' heavy use of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) as a conversation starter. Canadians discuss whether the program displaces local workers, their experiences with immigration-driven labor competition, and their views on Indian immigration levels specifically. Some respondents are blunt, others sympathetic.

Where: Canada (specific cities unconfirmed)

When: September 2025

Why: Tim Hortons is not a metaphor — it is the most recognizable Canadian corporate employer, and its reliance on the Temporary Foreign Worker Program is well-documented and widely resented. Interviewing Canadians using Tim Hortons as the opening gives civilians an immediate concrete referent rather than an abstract policy debate. People on the street know the franchise; they may have applied there; they may have watched someone else get hired. The TFWP dispute over Tim Hortons made immigration into a daily-life argument rather than a border argument, and this footage captures what that sounds like from workers talking about their own experience.
